Photovoltaic power plant in Nouakchott inaugurated

The largest sub-Saharan photovoltaic power plant built in Toujounine near Nouakchott by Clemessy in a consortium with Krinner was inaugurated on 23rd November by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

The RMT teams completed the design and construction of the plant over an area of 64 hectares in less than a year. 160,000 modules were installed, 20 MV / LV substations built, 700 km of LV cables and 12 km of MV cables connected.

As stated by the Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdel Fattah, the completion of this plant will contribute to supplying electricity to the city of Nouakchott in the short, medium and long term.
