Port facilities

22.04.2016

RMT is carrying out the maintenance on the electrical installations at the port of Lomé in Togo for the company LCT (Lomé Container Terminal).

Within the framework of the construction of the new Lomé container terminal, LCT had awarded RMT the contract to design and install the site’s 15.5 MVA backup power plant, the medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, communications and the monitoring & control and supervision system.

The commissioning was progressively carried out from the end of 2014.

The new infrastructure allows large container ships to enter the port of Lomé and to tranship the containers to countries in the sub-region, the centre and the south-west by means of smaller feeder ships.

The terminal can handle one and a half million containers a year on the 1,050 metres of docks and accommodate 3 to 4 vessels simultaneously."
