The largest photovoltaic power plant in Europe

09.04.2015

Eiffage, through its subsidiary company Clemessy/RMT (lead company), Schneider Electric and Krinner won the contract in a consortium to build a solar park and an HV substation which constitutes the largest solar power project in Europe in Cestas, near Bordeaux. The consortium will also be in charge of the operation and maintenance of the park.

This project, developed by Neoen, one of the main French players in the field of renewable energies, will represent a total power capacity of 300 MWc.

The park will be directly connected to the very high-voltage grid and come into service in October 2015. Each year, it will produce over 350 gigawatts-hours, which corresponds to the daytime electricity consumption of the whole population of Bordeaux.

RMT's expertise was mobilized on this project for the design engineering. Solar energy production is a priority target for RMT which intends to develop this market on the African continent.
