RMT is taking part in the Freetown port extension work

RMT has been chosen to carry out the power & lighting and communications work package, as part of the extension of the Freetown port in Sierra Leone, alongside Eiffage Génie Civil, the consortium leader and Bellsea, a subsidiary of the Belgian group DEME, specialising in dredging.

The project carried out for Bolloré Africa concerns the construction of a 270 m dock extension which is 13m deep.

The work carried out by the RMT teams concerns:

  • The installation of a 6 MW power plant
  • Providing power supply to the gantry cranes and refrigerated containers (reefers)
  • Site lighting
  • Video-surveillance
  • The monitoring & control systems
